Kielder offers a wealth of choice of activities such as cycling, fishing, water skiing, sailing, walking or just simply relaxing.
Wildlife - Kielder is home to a fabulous array of animals and plants, some very rare. The Red Squirrel and Otter are both residents in Kielder. Red Squirrels prefer particular types of conifer seed so this is taken into account during forest planning to ensure a steady food supply. Similarly, much has been done to help the Otter, including construction of artificial holts and restocking waterways with their favourite snack-eels! More information about the wildlife and conservation can be found at Kielder Castle and Tower Knowe Visitor Centre.
